Program Outline
Every year, Science Inc.™ Accelerator runs two cohorts. One runs February-May and the second cohort runs September-December. Participating in the accelerator is free of charge and requires a commitment of approximately 30 hours per month.
Programming includes:
- Weekly workshops with experts – on strategy, operations, fundraising, networking, business development, and more
- Weekly 1-on-1 coaching sessions – about goal setting, business planning, and making progress
- Pitch preparation – to develop a compelling entrepreneurial story and a powerful pitch
The experience concludes with The Science Inc. Pitch Showcase, where the cohort’s pitches are shared with the Innovation Space’s investor community through a month-long virtual campaign. Additionally, the cohort experience closes with a Science Inc. Day networking event live at the Innovation Space.
Qualifications and Participation
Science Inc.™ is open to founders or founding teams who are building a startup in life sciences, clean tech, and advanced materials sectors. Qualified participants will have developed a technological innovation, completed foundational market research, and have begun to develop a business plan.
Optional Funding Opportunity
The Innovation Space offers Science Inc.™ participants the additional opportunity to be considered for investment through the Innovation Space’s First Fund program. Through the First Fund, Science Inc. startups can be considered for up to $200,000 in cash, lab space, and support services via convertible note. Funding is released in six-month tranches based on successful progression of business milestones. Recommendations for consideration are made at the end of the cohort experience.
