Key Responsibilities
The Materials Chemist will be a key member of the Unsmudgeable Inc. Product Development team. You will be the operations subject matter expert, driving close alignment with cross functional teams to meet R&D and manufacturing deliverables. This position will have multiple technical responsibilities supporting R&D
internally, as well as with our contract manufacturing (CM) partners in the following areas of focus: manufacturing engineering, manufacturing test, product packaging, and other initiatives associated with the development and commercialization of our product.

As Unsmudgeable’s Materials Chemist, you will:

• Identify new materials and enhance current material performance in vacuum environments
• Design wet lab experiments to optimize coating performance
• Analyze efficacy data and identify process improvements
• Test coating on various substrates beyond eyewear
• Consult with industry partners on manufacturing needs
• Research new applications and business opportunities
• Presenting to external stakeholders (customers, investors, etc.)

Required Qualifications:

• Currently pursuing a PhD in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Nanotechnology, or closely related field with 0+ years of applicable chemistry research and/or relevant industry experience
• Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Nanotechnology, or closely related field with applicable chemistry research and/or relevant industry experience

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with vacuum deposition techniques (physical vapor deposition, electron beam evaporation, chemical vapor deposition, plasma enhanced chemical vapor deposition)
• Entrepreneurial mindset, ability to wear multiple hats and contribute to a start-up environment
• Comfortable presenting technical details to various audiences (investors, clients, partners, etc.)
• Organized, meticulous, and good documentation practice
• Excited about developing novel technologies
